Brian Lenihan, Vice-President of the College Historical Society, died today after suffering from pancreatic cancer. Mr Lenihan served as the society’s Censor during its 209th Session, 1978-79, and Treasurer during its 211th Session, 1980-81. He served as a Fianna Fáil TD in Dublin since 1996 and has been both Minister for Justice and Finance, and was deputy party leader upon his death.

 

A meeting of the Society will take place next Wednesday at 5.30 to propose a special motion of condolence on the death of Brian Lenihan.
