The Hist continued its winning streak at the UCD L&H Vice Presidents’ Cup this weekend, making it 5 victories in a row for the Society in our neighbours’ IV. TCD Hist B, made up of Niamh Ni Mhaoileoin and Colm Denny, both former Hist Librarians, broke first and won the final from Second Opposition on the motion “That This House Would Treat Fundamentalist Religion As A Mental Illness”. Niamh was joint best speaker in the tournament with Doug Cochrane of Cambridge A. Congratulations are also due to Kate Oliver and Anthony McDonnell of TCD Hist A, who reached the semi finals, and to Adam Noonan and Louise Courtney who reached the semi finals of the Novice IV on Thursday after topping the tab.
